Itinerary
Day 1: Cusco – Poroy – Machu Picchu
5:30 AM: Transfer from the hotel to the train station in Poroy.
6:40 AM: Train journey to Aguas Calientes.
9:54 AM: Arrival in Aguas Calientes.
10:30 AM: 30-minute bus ride to the top of the mountain where Machu Picchu is located.
Tour: Guided tour of the Inca citadel (approximately 2 hours).
3:20 PM or 4:43 PM: Return to Cusco by train and transport.

Approximate schedule: 5:30 AM – 7:00 PM
We’ll pick you up from your hotel in Cusco and take you to Poroy train station, just a 30-minute drive away. From there, you’ll board your train to Aguas Calientes, a charming town nestled at the foot of Machu Picchu, located over 2,000 meters above sea level.
During the three-hour train journey, you’ll be delighted to breathtaking views of local villages, lush farmlands, majestic mountains, and picturesque towns along the Urubamba River, right in the heart of the Sacred Valley.
Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, your designated guide will be waiting for you. Together, you'll take the bus up to the mountain’s summit, where the awe-inspiring Inca citadel of Machu Picchu awaits. Accompanied by your guide,, you’ll explore this magical site, walking through ancient temples, plazas, pathways, and viewpoints that showcase the incredible legacy of the Inca civilization.
After approximately two hours of exploration, you’ll head back down to Aguas Calientes, where you’ll have time for lunch before boarding your reserved train back to Cusco.
Note: Return train schedules on the same route are subject to the entry time on your Machu Picchu ticket and may be at 15:20, 16:43, or 17:23.
Alternatively, you can return to Ollantaytambo Station, which offers more departure times until 21:50 hrs. From there, you will be transferred by private transport to Cusco.
