Manu Reserve Tour – 7D/6N


Day 01: Cusco – Cloud Forest

  • Travel by bus for 8 hours until the cloud forest
  • Entrance to the Manu National Park
  • Walk in the cloud forest to see the bird Andean cock of the rock
  • Overnight in San Pedro Lodge (1600 m)

Day 02 Cloud Forest – Atalaya Port – Boca Manu

  • Travel by bus to Atalaya port  (02 hrs)
  • Boat trip  from Atalaya on the Madre de Dios River to Boca Manu (05 hrs)
  • Overnight in Lodge near Boca Manu.

Day 03 & o4: Manu River – Lake Cocha Salvador – Lake Cocha Otorongo

  • Boat trip the Manu River observing wildlife in its banks (06 hrs)
  • Arrival to our Campsite Lodge
  • Excursion to the lake Cocha Salvador to see wildlife
  • Excursion to the lake Cocha Otorongo to see wildlife.

Day 05: Lake Cocha Salvador – Blanquillo

  • The last visit to the Lake Cocha Salvador
  • Boat trip by the Manu River toward the Madre de Dios river and finally to our Blanquillo Lodge
  • Overnight in Blanquillo Lodge

Day 06: Macaw Clay Lick – Canopy Tower or visit to a lake Cocha

  • Tour to Blanquillo Macaw clay lick
  • Canopy Tower or visit to the Cocha lake
  • Overnight in Blanquillo Lodge

Day 07: Blanquillo – Boca colorado – Cusco

  • Boat trip to Boca Colorado.
  • Bus trip from Boca Colorado to Cusco.


Day 01: Cusco – Cloud Forest

Our service starts from Cusco, with a 8 hours bus trip  crossing beautiful andean villages. Our first stop is the colonial village of Paucartambo where we  have a delicious breakfast. Then we  continue up to the point of beginning of the Manu National Park at 4.000 meters of elevation, and then we descend to the cloud forest. In the afternoon we walk to see flora and fauna and especially the Cock of the rock a very colorful bird that daily performs a  ritual mating dance. Overnight in San Pedro Lodge (aprox.1600 m).

Day 02 Cloud Forest – Atalaya Port – Boca Manu

Very early in the morning  we continue our journey by bus to the tropical lowland rainforest, arriving to Atalaya Port at 650 meters of elevation, to embark us in a motor boat for 5 hours through the Alto Madre de Dios River. After a couple of hours sailing we meet with the other crew members doing the 9 days trip and together continue our journey to the Yine Lodge near to Boca Manu, which is part of a project with native community Yine. Overnight in Yine lodge

Day 03 & o4: Manu River – Lake Cocha Salvador – Lake Cocha Otorongo

After our comforting breakfast, we continue the trip by boat for 6 hours through the Manu river, toward the reserved zone of Manu National Park; during the journey we enjoy unique scenaries of the untouched amazon rainforest with a rich biodiversity of wildlife that surrounds this beautiful natural paradise. Once arrived  to our Campsite lodge in the heart of the rainforest. We begin our excursions to the lake cocha salvador to explore it on a raft and see the wildlife like giant otters, caimans, monkeys and a variety of birds. The next day we visit the lake cocha Otorongo to observe from a platform of 20 meters high the wildlife, besides to walk in some their trails. 02 nights in Camping Lodges

Day 05: Lake Cocha Salvador – Blanquillo

After the last walk through the forest surrounding the Lake Cocha Salvador, we continue in a boat trip across the Manu and Madre de Dios river to Blanquillo Lodge, near the Macaw clay lick. Overnight in Blanquillo Lodge

Day 06: Macaw Clay Lick – Canopy Tower or visit to the oxbow Lake

Very early we headed to the macaw clay lick  to view to see the  dazzling natural spectacle of hundreds of parakeets, parrots and large macaws  eating clay. By the afternoon, we have the option to  visit another beautiful oxbow lake of Manu or ascend to the canopy tower of 42 meters to observe the exuberant rainforest. Overnight in Blanquillo Lodge

Day 07: Blanquillo – Boca colorado – Cusco

After breakfast we start the journey by boat downstream, this time we are heading towards the small mining villages of  Boca Colorado and Mazuco, to observe the negative effects of  mining activities in the rainforest. Then we board the local transport to cross the Inambari river and finally take our transport to return to Cusco, arriving at night.
