The Inka Jungle is a tour that combines different adventure activities such as biking, rafting, trekking, zipline, and, of course, a well deserved end in Machu Picchu. This is a perfect alternative to the classic Inca Trail and is popular amongst adventurous travelers.

Day 01: Cusco – Abra Malaga Pass – Santa Maria

  • Travel by car  (04 hours) to Malaga Pass
  • Biking (03 hours) to Huamanmarca village
  • Travel by car (1/2 hour)  to Santa Maria village
  • Rafting in the Urubamba River (02 hours) (optional and not included)
  • Overnight in a Familiar Lodge

Day 02: Santa Maria – Kellomayo – Santa Teresa

  • Hiking in an Inca Trail  (07 hours )
  • Cocalmayo Thermal Baths
  • Overnight at Santa Teresa accomodation

Day 03: Santa Teresa – Hydroelectric – Aguas Calientes town

  • Zip line activity (optional and not included)
  • Hiking (06 hours) to Aguas Calientes town
  • Overnight at Aguas Calientes town accomodation

Day 04: Aguas calientes – Machu Picchu – Cusco

  • Hiking (01:30 hours) to Machu Picchu
  • Guided Tour in Machu Picchu (02 hours)
  • Return to Cusco

Day 01: Cusco – Abra Malaga Pass – Santa Maria (L)(D)

We left in our private vehicle from Cusco between 6:30 to 7:00 am, toward the Sacred Valley , Once there  we begin to ascend to the Abra Malaga Pass at 4230 meters of elevation, arriving about 11:00 hours , in the middle of a dense fog still frigid, we prepare our bikes and our equipment required for the descent  into the high jungle for about  3 hours, reaching the village of Huamanmarca and then continue  by car for 30 minutes to the village of Santa Maria where a delicious lunch await us. the following activity is rafting on the Urubamba River (optional)  with rapids of III and V, this  adventure take us about 2 hours, and finally we head to our house lodging. Overnight in a house lodging Activities:

  • Rafting : 02 horas/optional(not included)

Day 02: Santa Maria – Kellomayo – Santa Teresa (B)(L)(D)

This day ,after a comforting breakfast we start the hike up following an ancient Inca trail in the middle of the typical vegetation of the jungle for about 03 hours to reach Kellomayo village for lunch, and after a short break we restart the hike for 03 hours, until the Cocalmayo thermal water, where we take a relaxing bath. Then continue walking for 45 minutes to Santa Teresa where we spend the night. Overnight in hostel in Santa Teresa  Activities:

  • Hiking : 07 horas/23 km.
  • Thermal baths: optional(not included)

Day 03: Santa Teresa – Hydroelectric – Aguas Calientes town (B)(L)(D)

After an early breakfast we start the scheduled activities, the passengers who booked in advance  the zipline activity will enjoy it, and once the activity is over  they continue the trip to Hydroelectric by car, while the rest of the group continue the hiking to Hydroelectric for 3 hours, where the group meet again to have a delicious lunch and after continue together the last part of the hiking for 3 hours along the train railway until Aguas calientes town. Here we have a dinner and we spend the night in a  touristic accommodation. Overnight in a hostel at Aguas Calientes Activities:

  • Hiking: 06 horas/ 16 km
  • Zip Line : optional (not included)

Day 04: Aguas calientes – Machu Picchu – Cusco

We begin our tour at 04:30 hours in the morning to walk up to the archaeological site of Machu Picchu and have the chance to see the sunrise, then have a guided tour for about 02 hours, and once the tour is over you have a free time  to explore the citadel by your own. Then we descend at scheduled time to Aguas Calientes town for lunch and catch our train back to Ollantaytambo and finally we board our private transport that will transfer us to the Cusco city, ending at the Plaza San Francisco.

  • Rain gear (jacket and pants if available) or rain poncho (plastic ponchos can be purchased in Cusco)
  • Insect repellent, sun block, sun hat and sunglases
  • Flashlight
