Inca Trail Trek 2D/1N


The Inca Trail is one of the most impressive routes in South America made unique by the natural and cultural beauty throughout its entire lenght. This special program runs through the last part of the traditional Inca Trail and visits archeological sites such as Chachabamba, Wiñayhuayna and Intipunku before reaching Machu Picchu.

The hiking is aimed for travelers with  limited time and who want to experience a bit of the famous Inca Trail.

Important Note

  • Availability: Open from March to January, Closed in february for maintenance. The Peruvian government regulates the entry to the  Inca trail  allowing only 500 people per day including guides, cooks and porters which reduces to only about 200. We recommend to make a reservation well in advance.  See availability

Day 01 Cusco – Km 104 – Wiñayhuayna – Aguas Calientes

  • Walking : 6-7 horas/13Km.
  • Overnight in hotel at Aguas Calientes

Day 02: Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Cusco

  • Guided tour  in  Machu Picchu
  • Return to Cusco.

Day 01 Cusco – Km 104 – Wiñayhuayna – Aguas calientes Town (BL)

Very early we will pick you up from your hotel for a transfer to the station and boarding the train to km 104, place of control and start of the Inca trail. Then we will start our hike and visit the first archaeological site of Chachabamba located a short distance from the point of control, then we will ascend by a path surrounded by beautiful orchids and waterfalls to reach to the next Inca site of Wiñayhuayna composed of beautiful agricultural terraces and some ceremonial water sources. Very close to there we will take a short break for lunch and then we will continue our trek toward the site of Inti Punku (sun gate) where we will enjoy the first view of the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu. Then we will descend on a bus toward the town of Aguas Calientes where we will stay in a hotel.

Day 02  Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Cusco (B)

After an early breakfast in the hotel, we will take the bus to ascent (30 min) to the Inca Citadel, and then start the guided tour exploring the main temples, squares and religious sites in the sacred city of Machu Picchu. After the tour you will have some free time for about 1 hour in Machupicchu. then you will need to take the bus down to Aguas Calientes where you will have enough time for lunch (lunch not included). In the afternoon we will take the train back to Cusco, arriving at the train station, and returning to our hotel.

  • Transfer Ollantaytambo – Cusco: 2hrs
