Overview

The program invites you to visit the most important attractions of Arequipa, known as the “White City”, and boasts the Monastery of Santa Catalina. The city, with its imposing main square and colonial buildings, is constructed in ashlar stone. It also offers a visit to the main attraction of the region, the great Colca Canyon to appreciate the majestic flight of the Andean Condor.

Day 01: Arrival in Arequipa – Arequipa City tour

  • Transfer from the airport to your hotel
  • Arequipa City tour: Downtown of Arequipa, Santa Catalina Monastery, Compañía de Jesús Church, and Yanahuara lookout (half day)
  • Night at hotel in Arequipa

Day 02: Excursion to the Colca Canyon 2D/ 1N

  • Bus journey to Colca through Pampa Cañahuas Reserve
  • Thermal baths in Chivay (optional)
  • Overnight at hotel in Colca

Day 03: Lookout  Cruz del Condor

  • Bus journey toward the Cruz del Condor lookout to appreciate the flight of the Andean condor
  • Return to Arequipa by bus
  • Overnight at hotel in Arequipa

Day 04: Departure

  • Transfer out hotel / airport
  • End of the service

Detailed

Day 01: Arrival in Arequipa – City tour (14:00 to 17:00)

Upon arrival you will be picked up from the airport and brought to your hotel.

By the afternoon the city tour includes the most outstanding attractions of Arequipa the white city, including the Convent of St. Catherine admirable space for its history, architecture and art work, the main square, one of the most beautiful of Peru, In addition to visiting the lookouts of Yanahuara and Carmen Alto to appreciate the beautiful city of Arequipa flanked by impressive volcanoes. Overnight in Arequipa

Day 02: Excursion to the Colca Canyon 2D/ 1N (B)(L)

After breakfast at your hotel, we will begin the trip to Colca Canyon. We will drive through Yura, a natural reserve of Canaguas, where we will see herds of vicuñas and alpacas grazing in Andean wetlands. Also, we will pass by the highest point, known as the Mirador de los Andes at 4800m/15748ft, which has a spectacular view of the volcanoes. From there we will descend towards the village of Chivay for lunch and then go to our designated hotel. In the afternoon we will visit La Calera hot springs (optional). Overnight in Chivay

Day 04: Lookout Condor (B)

An early day. After breakfast we will start the trip toward the Mirador Cruz del Condor to see Colca Canyon, which is considered to be one of the world’s deepest canyons. From this lookout we will observe the flight of the majestic Andean condor only a few meters away. On the way back to Chivay we will pass by the towns of Pinchollo, Maca, Achoma,Yanque, and the lookouts of Antahuilque and Choquetico. After lunch Return to Arequipa. Overnight in Arequipa

Day 04: Departure

According to your departure flight you will be transferred to the Airport.
